Apple introduces Mac Pro with PCI-E SSD and Thunderbolt 2 -
Apple has shown a glimpse of a new Mac Pro desktop that what format is an eighth position relative to the current case. The next desktop will include PCI-E SSD’s, ECC memory and two Radeon FirePro cards have.
The new Mac Pro is not yet available but, against the whole tradition of the manufacturer, Apple already shows a glimpse of the next workstation, which only got a modest update last year. The update for this was in 2010, Apple criticism came to be that it was the Pro lost sight of.
The dimensions of the workstation are reduced significantly. The new system is 25.1 inches high, where the previous generation measuring 51.1 cm. The volume of the housing is one-eighth of that of the previous Mac Pro.
The next Pro is about a black cylindrical casing feature, which Apple talks about a ‘thermal core. The striking form would ensure efficient airflow compared to the two processors. These CPUs are two Xeon E5 processors. Also get the new Radeon Pro two FirePro cards a further unnamed generation, that would be like the Radeon HD 5770 from the previous line. 2.5 times as powerful In total, the Pro 7 teraflops of computing an offer.
The Mac Pro will further characterized by use of new technology. There will include support for Thunderbolt 2: the new generation of the interface that a theoretical throughput in both directions of 20Gbit / s offers over a single channel. The Pro gets six such gates. The next desktop gets an SSD with PCI-E interface, which the throughput significantly benefit. The memory is concerned-1866MHz DDR3 RAM, a memory bandwidth of 60GB / s and provides the ecc -type, that should ensure reliability. More than that the Pro ‘later this year’ comes out, Apple will not release about the release. The exact launch date and pricing are still unknown.
