The Pact Between Apple and Microsoft, The Fight Against Google’ Android

Microsoft and Apple have long been rivals in the different markets, so the company won the battle with the Redmond computer, and Apple won the market for MP3 players. Although Microsoft has long tried to conquer the mobile market, Apple was completely revolutionized the market with the iPhone in 2007. But right now both seem to lose the battle with Android, the mobile operating system from Google. However, Microsoft and Apple have the suspicious that Google may have different ideas and patents copied.

In recent years both companies have launched several lawsuits against Google and other Android manufacturers, especially something that proved to be very lucrative for Microsoft. The software giant received $800 million for Android namely royalties in the second quarter of 2012. So it’s really Google and Android manufacturers that have paid the promotion and development of Windows Phone 8, that’s another fine business. The tactics that Microsoft uses is completely different compared to Apple, the Cupertino company seems primarily interested in selling prohibited instead of selling licenses.

It remains in any case remarkable to see how both companies primarily Android seem to attack, while they seem to leave each other alone. During the patent case between Apple and Samsung, it soon became clear that both companies had to find an agreement with one another, in this Agreement, a number of rules have been about competing with each other. The contract would also have to read that the smart phones and other products may not resemble the design of the iPhone.

Microsoft will be contractually allowed to use certain aspects which are patented by Apple, but they are not the whole look of the iPhone clones. It will be according to several insiders also have been the reason that Windows Phone so look different than IOS (Apple) and Android (Google), although it seems the interface in our eyes more based on Microsoft’s desktop operating system Windows 8, which will shortly be released.

We will probably never know whether Microsoft has actually paid to use any of Apple’s patents, further it is of course possible that a deal is made, which both companies are allowed to use each other’s patents. It seems at least that Microsoft and Apple have signed a pact to help each other in competition with Google’s Android.
