Intel brings Avoton SOC for micro-servers in 2013

Intel has a new Atom-soc for small servers revealed. The Avoton is manufactured at 22nm, Intel will 3D Tri-Gate transistors and must contain the Centerton-system on a chip, in the second half of this year released, follow.

Intel sees a growing market for servers with small, fuel-efficient chips and custom slide Atoms, in addition to its Xeon chips forward for so-called micro-servers.   Jason Waxman, Intel’s Cloud Infrastructure Group, showed at a conference in San Francisco a new roadmap showing the Atom Avoton. Intel fiber optical cables, next generation connectivity will beginning to upgrade this year, according to IDG. Thunderbolt technology can increase further, the current interfaces can handle optical cables that data quickly over long distances to transport than  current copper cables.  Thunderbolt was introduced over a year ago. Apple has apparently seen the same benefits that can offer the Thunderbolt. But even if 10Gb/sek. are impressive, you can get out with Thunderbolt optical cables much longer than with the current of copper, said Dave Salvator, Intel spokesman.
