iOS 5.1 Jailbreak for Non-A5 Devices Using Redsn0w
Apple released the iOS 5.1 for all devices. The Dev Team for that it can already provided a new solution to jailbreak the new update iOS 5.1. Indeed, the famous team of hackers announced Thursday the availability of a new version of their tool redsnow (version 0.9.10b6) to jailbreak older iOS 5.1 devices. As a reminder this is tethered (understand that the jailbreak will be lost if you restart your device).
The new version of redsnow will allow users to tethered iOS 5.1 jailbreak to be done, therefore is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPod Touch 3G and 4G iPod Touch. STEP 2: Now open iTunes, back up your device and restore using the downloaded iOS 5.1.
STEP 3: Open Redsn0w, select “Jailbreak” then “Install Cydia” and follow on-screen instructions to put your device into DFU mode.
STEP 4: Finally do a tethered boot, launch Redsn0w, select “Extras” then”Just Boot” and put your device in DFU mode to get it rebooted and working.
