Safari 6.0 Not Available For Windows

While Apple  released the Safari version 6.0  for OS X 10.7 and OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, it seems that Windows users can no longer download the browser. On the Safari website of Safari, the Windows download link can no longer be found. When we look at the Windows version we see that version 5.1.7 is still the latest version for Windows, but this update is still available on Apple’s servers, at least if you know where you can find the update.

One of the reasons for lack of the Windows version could be possible that the new browser has integrated features that only work with OS X. It will therefore be difficult for Apple to bring these features to Windows.

It is unlikely that many Windows users will miss the Safari. According to a study of the browser NetMarketShare has only a share of around 5 percent on all operating systems. Given that OS X only has a market share of 7 percent, it is clear that even Mac users use alternative browsers like Chrome.

Although the Safari browser is certainly one of the better browser for the Mac, it’s still less than for Windows Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and even the newest Internet Explorer is better in my eyes.

If you still like to use Safari on your Windows computer, then it might be time to look for another browser.
