Experts from industry analyst firm Chitika Insights were interested in the adoption rate of Windows 8 in the U.S. and Canada. To do this they are based on the statistics returned by their own advertising counting the hundreds of millions of impressions between 13 and 19 April and then analyzing the ads displayed by Windows 8. According Chitika Insights, Windows 8 and holds a market share of 0.13% of all traffic generated by the different editions of Windows. For comparison, a study was similar set up by Chikita to determine the rate of adoption of Mountain Lion. Based on similar impressions of 1000, it represented only 0.06% while the traffic generated by the systems from Apple. The experts therefore conclude that the market share of Windows 8 is twice as important as the Mountain Lion.
Note however that Microsoft offers Windows PC free download 8 while it is necessary to have a developer account to retrieve Mountain Lion on Apple’s servers. The deal would have been different without this constraint for Apple? Recall that a version Release Preview for Windows 8 consumer preview is scheduled for June. This could then increase the market share of the system.
